This specialized format is ideal for those who seek a shorter on-site time commitment, as well as the willingness & ability to complete an extensive Pre-Course Study Process including 25 hours of self-study and an online Pre-Course Exam prior to your arrival.

WAFA to WFR ‘Bridge’ Course (36 hours, 4 Days)
WAFA graduates looking to upgrade to a higher level of training. Prerequisites include: Your WAFA certification must be current at the start of your course. Completion of an extensive Pre-Course Study Guide (included in the course tuition), which is due on the morning of the first day of the course. The Bridge course can be used to recertify WFR or WEMT certifications from any wilderness medicine provider. Open Recertification Course (27 hours, 3 Days)
Intended for: Those looking to recertify an existing WFR or WEMT certification. Professional level CPR Certification is included in this course.Prerequisites include: Certification must be 64 continual hours in wilderness-based medical training, within three years of the Open Recertification Course. Completion of an extensive pre-course study packet (included in the course tuition), which is due on the morning of the first day of the course. Intended for: Those who hold medical certification at the level of EMT or higher. Prerequisites include: Current EMT certification (Basic, Intermediate, or Paramedic). PA’s, RN’s, or MD’s may also participate in the course for a WEMT Audit card.
