The Parent n’ Kids Beginning Backpacking course is a great way
to introduce a healthy hobby to everyone in your family, and have a great
time doing it! This course creates a great opportunity to spend time
in the outdoors with other families with similar interests. The course
is very similar to our Beginning Backpacking course, but it is adjusted
to the needs of parents and kids, and at a reduced price to help make
it affordable. Come join us!
PLEASE NOTE: Parent or legal guardian is required to be present at all times during this course. Minimum age for this course is 8 years of age, to help ensure a successful experience for all participants. For children younger than 8, see Parent n’ Kids Adventure Weekend.

During the fall-spring, this course is offered in the incredible high desert landscape of Joshua Tree National Park, located about 2 1⁄2 hours from either Los Angeles or San Diego. The gentle desert terrain is perfect for kids- come and explore the wonderful desert environment amongst dramatic rock formations, and of course, the surreal Joshua Tree. (Springtime can bring fantastic wildflower displays!) More Details
